Swap for a Cause

Some friends of mine came up with a great idea to raise money for worthy causes. A couple of times per year a bunch of girls get together and have a clothing swap! Everyone brings their old, unwanted clothes. The price is set at $3 per item. Then we shop! We had a swap recently to help a friend raise money for her mission trip. Here is what I got! I should have taken a picture of all the stuff I took to the swap. I think the best part of this (especially to my husband) is what I got rid of!

I love this extra large beaded necklace but I actually got it with my friend Kelly in mind!
 cute little black flower earrings
black white, and silver beaded necklace
black, blue, and white firework print skirt
open back wiggle dress from Topshop with bow detail

Total Cost: $15
fun night with girlfriends: priceless
giving money to a good cause: fulfilling

  1. They did something like this last year at school. My school has 30,000 people so the swap was huge! they raised a lot of money and were able to donate tons of clothes.

  2. I'm having my 2nd annual clothing swap this weekend, but everything is free. I never thought to charge & raise money for a good cause, what a great idea! Maybe next year.

  3. This is a fabulous idea! I went to a swap last month, but it never occurred to me to use it as a fundraiser, too. The pieces you picked up are lovely, too!
