ReplyDeleteI loved looking at these! My house was built in 1950 and like you, we've been working hard on it ever since (currently in the process of remodeling the basement). Did you find a lot of your decor out thrifting? I'm hoping to be able to decorate downstairs on the cheap but still with things i love. :)

ReplyDeleteWe are in the process of purchasing a cape cod. And surprise (not really) our exterior and interior looks almost identicable. I didn't notice until the 2nd time going into the house that there was no coat closet. How did you guys manage that? So looking forward to decorating, though first order of business is exterior. New roof, fence and fixing the asphalt on the driveway. But looking forward to something as simple as having hanging plants and being able to grill and have a vegetable garden.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your house! We luckily do have a coat closet. It's not right by the front door but not too far away- just in the hallway.The basement stairs are just behind and below the closet. I guess it didn't make it into any of the pictures. If I were you I would put a piece of furniture by the door like a wardrobe or something with lots of hooks and maybe some baskets and only keep the most used coats there and keep the other ones in another closet. Best of luck to you guys!
