Oxford University

Forget the ballet flat! The hottest trend in flat shoes is the oxford. Traditionally known as a man's shoe, women everywhere are taking over the look. The trick with this trend is to rock the manly shoe but still look like a woman!

I was lucky enough to find two pairs of my own from the thrift stores.

gray suede Forever 21 oxfords from Goodwill $3.99

vintage white leather oxfords with cutouts from the Birthright Thrift Store on Indianola Ave. $1.00

Here is some inspiration to get this look right:

These shoes look great with everything from skirts and dresses (with or without tights), skinny pants to cuffed jeans. Just be sure to add some sort of feminine element to the outfit to balance out the masculine footwear.

Here are a few reasonably priced options for you in case you aren't lucky enough to find them at the thrift store:

 Restricted Ritzy from Piperlime.com $24.99

Jessica Simpson Mely Piperlime.com $29.99

Xhilaration Taree Oxford from Target.com $19.99

Call it Spring Rapson from zappos.com $39.99

Type Z Gynger in Grey from zappos.com $39.00

 Glimmering Metallic Oxfords Forever21.com $24.80

Lace Up Patent Oxford Shoe from Forever21.com $22.80

Hollywood Sequin Oxfords Forever21.com $24.80

What do you think about the oxford shoe trend? What do you like to wear with your oxfords?
