My Hoe Down 30th Birthday Party!

This is a very special birthday edition of Thrift and Shout! My wonderful husband threw me a hoe down birthday party for my 30th birthday this past weekend. What a blast! He even had my two best friends come over while we were gone that day to set up some amazing decorations! There is just something a party with a theme that makes people let go and have a good time! I just had to share all the details with you. Maybe it will inspire you to try your own theme party?!

The Decorations:

The centerpiece for the food table.

These were the party favors. Boxes of shelled peanuts and Hershey's chocolate gold nuggets.

I got these mason jars at Goodwill for $.50 each and my best friend Kelly filled them with all different kinds of flowers and greenery for a country look.

This is what my deck looked like when I got home!

Kelly also made these great signs with country phrases on them- hilarious!
This is the photo booth area. I set up my Canon 30D SLR on a tripod to take pictures of all my friends in their western gear. Kelly and Alicia also provided props- cowboy hat, stuffed snake, fake mustaches, a plastic hatchet, a mullet wig, and some toy guns. It was a big hit and now I have a ton of incriminating photos of my friends!

the fake mustaches!

Cowboys and Indians in my kitchen Oh my!

my glass boot mugs- I use these all the time but they were perfect for the party!

cactus bendy straws in my steer glasses!

The Attire- western of course!
Me with my gift from my friend Jaymie- a bust form for my blog!!! You'll be seeing a lot more of Jill in the future!

The food/ drinks:
We had Hoggy's Restaurant's pulled meats and wings catered in, beans, mashed potatoes and bar-b-q chips. My husband served up the drinks. We had two selections:

Cowgirl's Prayer
2 parts tequilla
1 part lime juice
2 parts lemonade
 and
Navajo Dream
2 parts tequilla
1 part lime juice
2 parts cranberry juice

The Entertainment:

the guests outfits were entertainment enough but my husband also put together a music mix of all my favorite country songs and the photo booth was a lot of fun as well!

 My favorite photo booth pictures:

Thank you to the best party planning team I know and some of the best friends a girl could ever ask for. I love you guys and I feel so blessed to have you in my life:

My husband Jason- you make a pretty hot cowboy!

Kelly Calhoun- the sweetest and most creative person in the world!

Alicia Streicher- a true and faithful friend

Hope you enjoyed my hoe down as much as I did! If you were to have a theme party what theme would you choose? Let loose, be creative and just have fun with it!
