My Oscar Review

So, the Oscar's were last night. Did you watch? For me, the best part is always the red carpet arrivals before the show. It takes a lot to really wow me. Every one looked nice but there were a few that stood out to me.
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton:
I loved that she stayed true to her usual feminine, vintagy aesthetic but went a little more sexy after playing Marylin Monroe. I love the coral color, I love the layers of fabric, the trendy peplum, and the fitted bodice! This is exactly what I would wear to the Oscars. I love it (can you tell?)
 Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford:
She looked amazing like she always does! I thought the cape was just genius! She looked sleek, modern, and totally unique!
 Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace:
I am not usually a Angelina fan but this dress was A-Mazing! She worked that leg! This will be the dress that everyone remembers from the 2012 Oscars for years to come!
But I have to say, my favorite look of the night was Miss Piggy in Zac Posen! She is so gorgeous! Kermit looked pretty dapper himself in his Brooks Brother's tux! They are the best!

Best moment of the night:
Octavia Spencer winning an Oscar for best performance in a supporting role for The Help. I was so happy for her. I loved how genuinely grateful she was to win this award.

Well, those were my favorites. What looks wowed you the most?

Cute Outfit of the Day: It's So Me

 top: Goodwill $3.99
leggins: Goodwill $1.99
bracelet: Ohio Thrift $10
belt: Volunteers of America $1.99
earrings: Forever 21 $6.80
boots: gift $0
Total Cost: $24.77

This is what I wore yesterday. I worked on blog stuff most of the day and then went to the Ash Wednesday service at our church. Lent started yesterday; are you giving anything up for lent? Last year I made the ultimate sacrifice- I gave up thrift shopping. I'm glad I proved that I could do it but I don't think I could do it again!  This year I am giving up Pinterest because I spend a lot of time on that site that I could exchange for time with God. The point of Lent is to not only give up something but to also replace it with something good- time with God, charity work, fellowship with other Christians, etc.

This outfit is so me! If I could only wear one outfit for the rest of my life it would have to be a denim shirt,  some western accessories, and my boots. This is what I love!

A Peek Into My Closet Room

Like I mentioned yesterday, after I got home from Florida  my husband surprised me with a romantic weekend getaway to Cincinnati, Ohio. We stayed downtown at the old Cincinnatian Hotel and we went to the IKEA nearby in West Chester, Ohio. I've been wanting these Billy bookcases from IKEA for my shoes. Here is a peek at my new home for my shoes and the rest of my closet room just for fun!
This is my behind the door steaming station
The 3 tiered closet that my brother built (see here)- it's a little messy right now
These two wardrobes hold my dresses and longer shirts
my mirror and chair with ottoman filled with scarves

So, for all of you that have been wondering, this is how I keep all my thrift store finds organized!  Hope you enjoyed the tour!
