vintage dress: Goodwill $4.99
DIY jean vest: gift $0
belt: Goodwill $1.99
bracelet: Forever 21 $5.90
shoes: Goodwill $3.99
Total Cost: $16.87
This is a total DIY outfit! I shortened the length of the dress and turned a jean jacket into this cool jean vest! My friend Stephanie from work gave me this jean jacket but I already had one that I really like so I decided to cut the sleeves off and make it into a vest. Now I wear it all the time over dresses! Hope you don't mind Steph!
I wish I could say I made the belt too but it's a vintage belt I found at Goodwill. I love western and south western belts like this! I actually saw them selling at Target recently! That's when I just laugh and go back to the thrift store! There are just some things that you should never pay retail for because you can almost always find them at the thrift store! I think I might need to do a post on that topic soon, what do you think?
I'm new to thrifting, and I would love to see a post on "things you should never pay retail on". :)

ReplyDeleteCUTE! I think I just thrifted a belt nearly identical to that...thanks for showing me how to wear it :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love a post like that!!!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is adorable! If you have time to give me a short how-to on shortening a dress, I'd be all ears! I tried to shorten a dress a few weeks ago....5 times. It was too crooked, too bunchy, too long, too everything. Any tips would be much appreciated and put to use immediately!
ReplyDeleteyou are the QUEEN of thrifting! love seeing your daily outfits :)
ReplyDeleteI am so honored to be a part of a post. I knew you would do something awesome with the jacket! So cute! You know how much I love reading your blog. I am so proud of the name you have made for yourself simply doing something you are passionate about!
ReplyDeleteYou have mad sewing skills! That belt is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat DIY jobs! Both pieces turned out super cute!
ReplyDeleteThe pieces, individually, are very classic and simple but adding the belt is like, BAM! Awesome ensemble!
