My Mad Men Birthday Party

Thanks for all of the Birthday wishes! I had a great week off and a wonderful Birthday! On Saturday night I had a Mad Men Retro Birthday Party. It was a blast! Let me show you:
First, as a disclaimer, no real cigarettes were smoked in the making of this party, nor are we promoting cigarette smoking! Feel better Mom?
Ok, moving on, here's me:
and my adorable husband- I barely recognized him!
My best girlfriends Alicia and Kelly came over to help decorate the house
Vintage looking prints, a typewriter from the thrift store $6
To the right of the typewriter we had boxes on Candy Cigarettes.
You can't have a Mad Men party with out cigs!
Taper candles in old wine bottles
a bowl of candies from the 60's via World Market. Lemon Heads, Razzles, Boston Baked Beans, Candy Necklace, Jaw Breakers, Necco Waffers, Chaleston Chews, Long Boys, Double Bubble, Nut Zipper, Black Taffy, And Candy Buttons
Ok, so I know our flat screen isn't very 60's but we showed episodes of Mad Men all night
We also had a pretty well stocked bar:
with 4 special retro drinks of the night! We posted this guide so people could help themselves:
As usual, my husband cooked all the food
 Here is the food table
I found these Utz brand pretzels at World Market too. Utz is one of the brands that the Ad  men on the t.v. show Mad Men does adds for.
I actually did help with the food- I speared all these cheese and grape hors d'oeuvres
My husband also made my favorite cake- yellow with chocolate icing. I thought that would be more retro than buying a cake!
I found these cute animal crackers at World Market as well
I found this serving tray at Goodwill for $1.99
On the menu for the evening we had Mini Rubens, Deviled eggs,
 Pigs in Blankets,
 a cheese ball,
Meatballs with grape jelly and chili sauce,
and a very melty Jell-o Mold
We also set up a photo booth in my closet room. I had dresses that the girls could change into, vintage scarves, glasses, hats, jewelry, purses and candy cigarettes of course! I love having a photo booth at my parties because it  combines my two favorite things, dressing people and taking pictures. At parties, some people like to socialize, some people like to be in the kitchen, well, I like to be behind the camera!
Here are some of the shots from the photo booth:
