Spray Paint Makeover

Our house was build in 1942. Although most everything in the house has been updated but there are a few things that haven't been touched in a while including... the registers.

I love that they are the original registers to the house! That definitely adds character but I really don't like the rust and chipped paint so I decided to spray paint them.

And here is the final result:

 kitchen

 bathroom

I used rust resistant black spray paint to hopefully prevent them from returning to the decrepit state they were in before. I have to give my frugalista mom credit for this idea. I can remember her using spray paint to spruce things up all the time when I was a kid. It is just such a thrifty way to improve the look of your house. This would be an especially important tip if you are planning to put your house on the market!

What have you spray painted lately?
