The Great Rug Debate

Since we moved into our new house a little over 2 months ago we have been searching for the perfect rug for our living room. Here is our living room before. Please don't judge as we are still in the decorating process in this room!

Here are some of the contenders:

These first 2 are from an online store called Shades of Light
Soho Dhurrie Rug: Moroccan Tile $328. comes in 9 colors. I love them all esp. the blue, gray, and the yellow but a little more than I wanted to spend.

Soho Dhurrie Rug: Modern Geometric 6x9 $368. Also a little more than I want to spend.

These next two are from an online store called Dash and Albert:
Plain Tin Slate Wool Hooked Rug 5x8 $374 again too expensive!

Diamond Khaki/White Indoor/Outdoor Rug 6x9 $288 not a bad price but not convinced this is the one!

This next one is a Martha Stewart rug from an online store called Home Decorators Collection and although it didn't make the living room I'm still considering it for the dining room.
Martha Stewart Living Fretwork Area Rug 5x8 $197. Great price but a little light for a high traffic room like our living room.

These next three are from World Market:

Chains Indoor/Outdoor Rugs 5x8 $239 both not in stock. But I also found them at rugsusa.com for the same price!

Ombre Stripe Kilim Wool Rug 5x7.6 $249. not a bad price but a little boring maybe?

These last ones are from West Elm:
Kite Kilim Rug 5x8 $229 too bold maybe and not in stock till November.

Jute Diamond Rug 5x8 $129. Best price so far but it was too scratchy for me.

Here's the one we picked: Drum roll please!

Ikea's Alvine Ruta Dhurrie Rug! It's perfect- interesting but not too bold. It adds brightness to a room with darker furniture, and adds more of the geometric print I wanted in this room! It is 100% wool which means it is really durable but it's soft. The rug can also be flipped over if one side gets dirty. And best of all it was only $159.!

What do you think? Did we make the right choice? Are you loving geometric prints as much as i am right now? Hope this gives you some ideas of where to shop if you are looking for a rug!
