Cute Outfit of the Day: Polka Dot Dress

Forever 21 dress: thrift $5
denim jacket: thrift $4
Pierre Cardin belt: thrift $2
Ferragamo shoes: thrift $4
Total Cost: $15

week 27 (picture taken week 26)

This is another one of the "just in case I ever get pregnant" items I've been saving for quite a while now. It's a Forever 21 dress so it's not maternity but I thought with the empire waist it would work well. I added a denim jacket and my Ferragamo flats (one of my best thrift finds ever and about the only flats I wear) to keep it classy but fun and casual.

Here's a quick pregancy update for those of you who have been following along:

How far? 27 weeks one more week till the third trimester

Boy or Girl? Boy

Weight gained? 6lbs so far

Sleep? not bad thanks to Unisom!Still haven't felt the need for a extra pillow

Nursery progress? finalizing our paint color selection (light gray), crib is build, room is mostly cleared out of all my clothes

Name? we've had it picked for a while but are going to keep it a secret until he's born

Dr's appointments?  next Wednesday for the Glucose test and flu shot- taking my mom because I'm a baby when it comes to these things!

Feeling? huge even though I know I'm not but by the end of the day I feel like I'm about to explode! Not much nausea anymore (thank you Jesus!) but still a lot of foods that if I even think about them I feel sick. Lots of cramping, low back and hip pain, and one terrible charlie horse that hurt for 2 days. Headaches have lessened as well but my allergies and bloody noses are out of control!

Looking forward to? our co-ed shower coming up on November 7th! My best friends Kelly and Alicia throw the best parties! Expecting about 100 people so it should be super fun and far from a traditional baby shower which is what I wanted

Cravings? sugar which is something I typically try not to consume a lot of but my cravings for it have definitely been stronger than they used to be- chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven, Starbucks Salty Caramel Mocha's (decaf of course) and Honey Crisp apples are at the top of my list!

Exercise? Yoga on Mondays and taking walks although I have to take it a lot slower than I used to because of terrible ligament pain in my lower abdomen.

Shopping? I have officially gotten to the point where I would rather shop for him than me and I never thought that would happen in a million years!

Maternity Clothes? I haven't worn a single maternity item yet! not even pants! I guess just the thought of it makes me feel big and frumpy so I'm avoiding it for as long as I can!

Movement? Feeling more and more everyday. It's still really weird to me.

Favorite thing about being pregnant? parking in the expecting mothers spots at the mall! Also thinking about what he's going to be like, look like, etc.

Least favorite part about being pregnant? the aches and pains, not being able to physically do everything I could do before, everyone telling me to drink more water, and people calling me mama! My name is Lindsey, and I'm not your mama, thank you!

How's the hubs doing? Great! He is so supportive and encouraging! He tells me everyday that I look amazing and that I'm doing a good job getting through this even though it's been really hard for me. I don't know what I'd do without him! He's been getting to tour with his band more lately with I'm glad for because I know he love it. I know he's a little nervous about what is going to happen with his music career about the baby comes. I know things will be different but I plan to support him and help him continue to do what he loves as much as possible!

Who will baby look like? We are hoping that he gets my great skin and strong teeth, and Jason's height, straight teeth, and amazing cheek bones. If he's not fair skinned with light hair and eyes I will wonder if we have the right baby!

To Do List? I feel like we still have lots to do but not worried about it. Need to finish the nursery, find a home for all of the amazing gifts we will be getting in a few weeks, visit the hospital, take classes and prepare for the holidays.

  5. You're still so tiny, it surprises me that you're having the pains, but you are much farther along than you look. God works in mysterious ways to help your body prepare for the Big Day. Do you have one of the lower abdomen/back support belts to help with the pains? I do have one, Serola is the brand, and would be happy to loan it. Feel free to email me if you're interested.
