ABOUT THE PREVIEW TOUR:
The site of the parade is absolutely gorgeous! The views out just about every window in every house was just perfectly scenic with rolling hills, mature trees and the golf course! The trends that I noticed this year is a strong focus on the master retreat. They are not just larger bedrooms anymore! They come with luxurious spa like en suites and relaxing sitting areas that are like a room within a room! The open floor plan still seems to be the desired layout complete with large gourmet kitchens. All of the homes I toured had standard ceiling heights of at least 10ft which made the homes feel very open and airy. I also heard a lot of the builders talking about their use of larger windows to create a  connection with outdoors which as a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan I absolutely love! I was pleased to see that the color trends are still favoring the blues and grays as well as the greiges. I particularly noticed the use of a lot of pretty dark shades but you almost didn't notice because the houses were so open and bright.

WEAVER CUSTOM HOMES:
I love the exterior color choice! Especially the yellow door! That was a fun choice that I haven't really seen at the parade before. The Weaver home features oversized windows that results in a light filled home with spectacular views!

How spectacular is this kitchen?! I love white cabinets and those pendant lights just make the room, I think! The Weaver home has a great neutral palate and they used pops of red to liven things up!

These two photos really show the connection with the outdoors that I was talking about earlier. Almost the entire back of the house is glass!

Great colors in the master bedroom! I love the how they painted the ceiling a darker version of the light blue they used on the walls! And that rug is gorgeous!

The builder went with a gigantic stand up shower and no tub which I know is a more practical choice that people are going with in recent years but is not something I would personally choose. What do you think?

I really like the detail on this wall of the living room withe the stone, the paneling and the rectangular windows.

The basement floors are a stained concrete which I actually saw in several of the homes. I think it looks really cool but I feel like it would feel cold on the feet.

FISCHER HOMES:
The Fischer home is the largest and most expensive in the parade and of course my overall favorite- I have expensive taste! It's a great family home that is perfect for entertaining! Love the exterior color and materials except for the little oval window at the highest point. I feel like it looks dated. That is one of my only complaints about this home though! The rest is gorgeous!
Great first impression when you walk in the front door! I love the warm medium tone wood floors. I feel like for years the parade houses have used a lot of either really dark or really light wood tones on the floors so I was happy to see these floors! The custom tile is gorgeous and all the stone and brick they used throughout this house makes it feel so warm and cozy. I love how they made this house feel like a much older house- in a good way! I love older houses!
The dining room is immediately to your right. Notice the super cool tiles on the ceiling that add to the vintage feel. Then to the left is an office. Love the decor so much!
This neutral living area is just spectacular! I love all of the light fixtures and the dark wood paneled wall looks so rich!
Love the mix of the vintage furniture and the stainless steel table! Rustic Modern at it's best!
This is all I'm going to show of this gorgeous kitchen. I don't want to spoil everything!

The basement is split level so it's like there are two basements! I thought this one was so super cool! The back wall is covered in bark and those white fur puffs look so inviting! Just wait till you see the 2nd basement!

I think this was my most favorite bathroom of all the houses! I love the detail in the tile, the paneling on the mirror wall and just the clean black and white palate!

This was my favorite kids room in the whole parade as well! I don't want to spoil it so I'll just give you this little peek! It's amazing! Don't worry, for all of you who aren't in Columbus I will post more photos of it after the parade opens! The master bedroom wasn't quite finished but it was looking amazing too complete with a gorgeous sitting area and a two-sided fireplace! I can't wait to go back and see it in a few weeks!

M/I HOMES:
This ranch style home is my favorite one from the outside. It has a great craftsman bungalow feel to it which I love! This was just a  fun house to tour! I love that the decorators went a bit outside the box with their use of lots of pink, navy, and grass green. Overall, it felt very kid friendly. I pictured a grandma living here that has her grand kids and family over all the time!

This is the front entry. I love the rolling barn doors on the office.

Down the hall, before you enter the main living area there is this great little art studio! This could also be a bedroom as it has a closet (which is painted pink!) and a full bath next door. But I think it was a perfect choice for the parade to make it an art studio. Notice the ledges that go all the way around he room to hold artwork!

This is the main floor powder room but what is nice is it is actually a full bath with a shower so service the guest room/ art studio next door! The gorgeous walls look like wallpaper but are actually stenciled!

The kitchen wall still a work in progress but I loved the dark cabinets with this counter top and back splash.

The master bath is not finished but as you can tell it's going to be a stunner! It is so light and bright!

The master suite was also a stunner! Definitely more on the feminine side but the dark blue walls give it some balance. Love the mix of patterns here!

The bright colors continue in the small upper level in this mostly ranch style home. It is a fun surprise when you get to the top of those stairs! It's almost like a studio apartment with a living room area, kitchenette, bathroom, and these super cool floating bunk beds!

COPPERTREE HOMES:
If you've been to The Parade of Homes before you know Coppertree Homes but maybe not by their formal name. You probably refer to their house as "the Christmas house". How can you not love a house where it is always Christmas! Coppertree Homes are so popular, not only is this years house sold but next years parade house is already sold as well! I got to meet the builder and he was lots of fun to talk to to just like you would expect!
I thought this photo pretty much summed up the theme of this years Coppertree home- Christmas at the beach!
They have a ways to go to get this house ready for the parade but you can get the idea. This years house is so much more modern than houses they have one in the past. Lots of light grays and blues. It has such a great calming feeling! And if the decor doesn't do it for you then the Jimmy Buffet music will be sure to get you in the beach mood!
The builder had me pay particular attention to the extra wide staircases that he says area  signature of his designs.
I think this was the only kitchen that used the different colors of cabinets on the top and bottom.
The tile above the stove is so pretty! The Christmas at the beach theme extends to the basement and let me tell you- it's going to be a real show stopper! Let me just say this- there may or may not be a large tiki bar in the basement! This house is sure to be a crowd pleaser just like it always has been in years past! I can't wait to see it all finished!

P&D BUILDERS, LTD HOME:
The P&D home has a nice rustic, lodge style feel to the exterior.

This house is also far from finished but I thought this wall of stone and wood in the main living area was really cool and continued the rustic lodge feel. I think they said that this fireplace is two sided so you can enjoy it from the inside as well as from the back deck.

The ceiling in the same living room as above.

I really loved the attention to detail with the woodwork and the windows in the eating area.

Check out this amazing view off the back of the house! This house was custom built to maximize privacy and to take advantage of the views. I think they did a good job!

The mud room has this adorable doggy area.

Just a little taste of the kitchen... pun intended!

One of the cool features in this house was the guest quarters above the garage. Just off the kitchen is this staircase that leads to a large bedroom and full bath perfect for overnight guests!

Another cool feature is this back splash on the wet bar in the basement. It is made of Ohio Wine barrels! The basement also is home to a pretty cool kids art studio and a theater room.

ROCKFORD HOMES:
A classic Queen Ann style in a contemporary shade of gray. I love the barn door style garage doors! The Rockford home is simple but beautiful. The interiors are light and bright and overall it just had a nice classic feel to it! None of the furniture or decor had arrived yet so I'm anxious to see it all finished!

A simple, clean, all white kitchen made this one of my favorites in the parade! I love the subway tile set in the herringbone pattern.

I also love the lights above the gigantic center island!
Like I said, simple, clean, and classic is the theme in this beautiful home!
A bathtub and a shower both with gorgeous tile surrounds in various shades of gray.

Sliding doors from the master out to the back deck and another gorgeous view!

The upstairs consists of a bonus room, a half bath, and two bedrooms with a jack and jill full bath. I love the shade of blue in this bedroom. Looks like they are doing some fun colors in the other bedroom.
The back deck is one of my favorite features of this house! It is enormous!

Hope this was fun to see and that I didn't give away too much! If you are in the Central Ohio area or anywhere I hope that you will come out to the parade. I guarantee you will leave feeling inspired!
