Parade of Homes Preview and Giveaway!

The 2014 BIA Parade of Homes is in one month, July 19th- Aug 3rd,  but I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the 12 spectacular  homes in the parade! Ranging in price from $600,000- $1,000,000+,  this years homes are bigger and better than ever! One of the things I really liked was the picturesque setting. All of the houses are built on a ridge so they have walk out basements- which don't really feel like basements at all! There are also lots of mature trees surrounding he houses which gives the houses great views!

Ok, so I know million dollar homes have nothing to do with the theme of my blog but The Parade of Homes is one of my favorite events of the year! My dad and I have gone every year for as long as I can remember. We just love getting decorating ideas, and seeing whats new! We always leave super inspired!

Here are some of the pictures I took on  my preview tour of The Parade of Homes:
The M/I home
 The Silvestri Home
 The Bob Webb Home
 The Weaver Home
The Dani Home

The use of exposed brick, arched doorways, hand scraped wood floors, and barrel ceilings throughout the main level in the Weaver home really set it apart in my mind!
I love this island in the Weaver home because of the super functional three tiered surface!  But then I saw this ingenious hydraulic small appliance cabby! It is operated by a remote! Technology is amazing!
This kitchen is going to be beyond spectacular! So elegant but with farmhouse charm!

great fireplace in the Bob Webb home- this home is otherwise very elegant looking so this creates a nice balance!
I am not usually a fan of black kitchens but this one in the Bob Webb home changed my mind! It's just so rich and elegant with the marble.
love the look of this cabinetry- looks old but it's not!
I'm super curious to see the Compass Homes house all finished because it had 19 decorators! yes, 19! most of them just have a few! It is by far the most colorful house so it should be fun to see!
This was one of my favorite entries! The spiraling staircase and 3 tiered pendant lights made such a beautiful statement!
It seemed like the builders are getting away from the theater rooms and making more of a theater area like this one.
I love this living room in the Weaver homes! I like that the builders are getting away from the two story vaulted ceilings- I think rooms like this are so much more cozy!
I just loved this outdoor area on the M/I home- looks like it might have a t.v.!
A friend of mine, Sher Sagar from Haverty's, is doing this living room so I know it's going to be stunning! I can't wait to see it finished! She is going with a modern meets farmhouse look which is my favorite!

And a few last details not to miss:

These gorgeous floors made me want to dance:
some very cool lighting:

And don't forget to look up or you'll miss these gorgeous ceilings:

  1. I went to the parade of homes last year in Raleigh, NC and it was so much fun! I wish we had it here in VA. That staircase and the home with the brick archway. WOW!

I'm linking up to you and last week's look on my blog, The Mummy Chronicles.
