I read an article recently about fashion trends that are are supposedly "out". Some of them I agreed with and some of them I didn't. One of the ones I didn't agree with was the peplum trend. Their argument was that since it's been around since 2012 it's outdated. Seriously! Am I supposed to throw out everything in my closet that is over a year and a half old? Then I thought, who decides these things anyway? I think if you like it then you should wear it! Sure, there are trends that I'm sick of but if you still like it then who am I to criticize? So, let's all just wear what we love and express ourselves freely without fear of judgement, ok?! Who's with me? Sorry for the rant, I'm done now.
I really like how this outfit turned out! I started with the top then added the pants that matched the lining of the shirt- pretty easy, right! Then I couldn't find a necklace I liked with it but I found this scarf with the same colors in it and decided to go with it! I'm not usually so matchy matchy but I think it works because of the different patterns and textures! I love the blend of the boho accessories and the sort of preppy classic outfit. I think it makes this look unique!

Seriously! Thanks Victoria!
DeleteAgreed! It took me a year to even buy a Peplum blouse (I thought I hated that look!) I think you can make most things updated by adding them with current trends or classic pieces.
ReplyDeleteGreat point Wendy! I hate it when I finally get with a trend and then it goes out!
DeleteOh I vote PEPLUM all the way. A blue palette looks amazing with your hair and that top is too cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Johanna! Glad you're with me!
DeleteThe peplum style will never be OUT in my opinion. It is such a flattering cut for the female figure! I love how your paired your peplum top here. Lovely <3
