The Look for Less: Embroidered Purses

I'm so excited to tell you that I'm starting a new weekly segment here on Thrift and Shout! I'm calling it The Look For Less. In this segment I will show something high end and most likely on-trendy and then I'll show you a similar item that I found from the thrift store! Easy enough, right?! Hope you enjoy!

This weeks edition of TLFL I'm featuring embroidered purses. This is a trend made popular by Dolce & Gabbana a while back. Some say they look a bit granny-esqu.but I don't care- I think they are quite beautiful! Just keep the outfit simple and modern to balance it out! I actually styled one of these purses in a post a few months back- you can check it out here.

  1. These are so cute, and I think the last two look better than the expensive one.

  2. I don't know what thrift stores you go to but I would never find anything like that at mine. These pieces are all scooped up and then sold at vintage stores for $80-$125. A whole lot less than the ones you were showing, but a whole lot more than what you paid.

I love all of them BTW.

  3. I second Suzanne's comment! Cincinnati thrift stores are over picked. I'm going to have to drive up near you!

  4. I own several tapestry purses that are family heirlooms, and have been taking them out to dinner dates, theater, and cocktail parties for decade. I've seen them priced in vintage stores, and know you got a real steal on these! Keep them forever - they always garnish compliments.

  6. I love this series idea!
I agree that these purses are perfect with a modern outfit. I think they would look just as cute with jeans and a white tee.

  8. This is a great series idea; I love this kind of thing! Also, I'm inclined to think that the vintage ones are way prettier. ;)
