Cute Outfit of the Day: Oversized Ruffle Trend

dress: Goodwill $5
bracelets: Gift from my friend Celeste! $0
belt: Goodwill $2
 shoes: Goodwill $4
necklace: gift from my friend Alicia! $0
Total Cost: $11

The oversized ruffle trend is one of the more tricky trends for Spring 2013 so I thought I'd show you how I would rock it! This trend has also been called the Anemone Neckline because the ruffles tend to resemble the flower of the same name. It can be super feminine and pretty but it can also go circus clown quite easily! One tip I would give would be to only wear ruffles that are in proportion to your body. If you are tall you can handle a larger ruffle. If you are hesitant about this trend I would suggest to try a slightly smaller ruffle.

Would you wear this trend?

  1. I agree! It can't be too much. You did it just right, reigning it in with the belt. Lovely!

  2. I love the dress and the color is fab on you. I would definitely rock this sans the belt and jewelry to give it a more modern look...the dress is such a statement on its own...love!

  5. Ruffles are all over right now. I've seen 3 outfit posts this morning with them. Not that I'm complaining. I love the look!

  6. Cute! I always feel like I look way too precious in ruffles, but this is a good balance.
