My Fashion in Florida

Just wanted to share with you a few highlights from my recent trip to Lake Wales, Florida. My mom and I go every February to visit my Grandma who lives in an upscale RV park called Camp N' Air. We had a great time! The weather started out a little cool but then went into the 80's for our last 3 days.

THE FASHION:
This is what I wore the first day. It was in the mid 60's but still gorgeous!
 sweater: Target via Goodwill $4.99
jeans: Banana Republic via Goodwill $5.99
sandals: Steve Madden via Goodwill $3.99
necklace Target via Goodwill $6.99
Total Cost: $21.96

This is what I wore the day we went to visit our friend Kay Baltzer and her son Stu Leeper near Bayonet Point, Florida. We had lunch on the beach! I only have two outfits for you from my whole trip because I'm stuck in Florida with no tripod and a bunch of old people who can't take a decent photo! This is what happened when I asked my mom to take my picture:
a little closer mom, this is about my outift...
pretty good, but a little closer still...
 Good enough!

dress: old Navy via Goodwill $4.99
belt: Goodwill $1.99
sandals: Steve Madden via Goodwill $3.99
Total Cost: $10.97

THRIFT SHOPPING:
Of course we went thrift shopping! I come from a long line of thrifty women! My Grandma even had her own thrift store for many years!
 Arc Resale Store
899 W Main Street
Avon Park, FL 33825-3632
This place is a treasure hunter's paradise! They have tons of stuff in this store including formal wear and lots of furniture!
 that's not a mannequin, that's my mom!
 cool shoes, not my size
This is one of the most decent wedding gowns I've ever seen in a thrift store! only $99!
I fell in love with this swivel table but It wouldn't fit in my suit case!
I bought this purse. It seems super old. $.99
 cute vintage jacket
Fendi scarf but not in great condition
vintage mint colored trench- so trendy right now!
I also really wanted this side board but again couldn't get it home!
We also went to the Care Center Thrift Store
27889 US Hwy 27
Dundee, Florida
This is a new store so it's really clean and organized but as far as content, I didn't find anything that day that I had to have but if I lived in the area I would definitely check back!
This thrift store was simply named just that! It was also on US HWY 27 closer to Haines City, Florida
It had a lot of stuff outside- office chairs, baby strollers, luggage but....
the inside looked like they bought the house of a hoarder and just put prices on some stuff. This place freaked me out a bit. I would probably not go back unless I needed an office chair!

Here are some fun shots of my fam:
Charlie, Grandma, and Mom
My Mom in her thrifted sweater
Our dear friend Kay Baltzer, me, Grandma, and Mom
me, my extra chins, and my Grandma
My Mom and I
Me and Charlie

So that's my trip! Other than that we went out to eat and went to the pool and laid in the sun all day!

Isn't my family so cute! Love those guys!  Thanks to Grandma and Charlie for letting us stay in their RV with them all week- close quarters! And thanks to my hubby for releasing my blog posts everyday! We had a great time but I'm glad to be back home with my hubby! Even after 11 years of marriage I still miss him so much! When I got home he surprised me with a getaway to Cincinnati, Ohio. We went to IKEA and stayed downtown in the Cincinnatian Hotel! It was sooo nice! But more on that later!

That one thrift store looks terrifying! I would feel claustrophobic the minute I stepped inside!

  7. awwwwww it looks like you had fun and your family is super cute! :) I loved the yellow sundress with the belt you wore. It just looked super appropriate for being on the beach in Florida! Once again I have this serious urge to go thrift store shopping now! I love your blog.
Your husband was super sweet to help you out with your blog and surprise you like that too.
I'm hoping I have a great relationship like that someday. Anyways, have a good one!

  8. lovely pictures of your family and the thrift stores. If I could I would have grab the red blazer off the screen. God knows I shouldn't be born in the US , I will totally camp in the stores for days. You look so chic, and the weather looks perfect. What a great trip! I enjoyed your pictures.
