Hooray for Vest Dresses

So you have probably heard me talk about Vest Dresses before. Yes, I made that name up! They are essentially just sleeveless suit jackets. Well, I am kind of obsessed with them right now. It all started on a Goodwill shopping trip with my brother. Ok, he actually made up the name! And now about a month later, I am the proud owner of 5 of them! They were all between $4-5. Here they are:

While cruising through Pinterest the other day I came across this lovely picture and now I feel so justified in my obsession! A Vest Dress on the Spring 2012 Runway!

Then with a little searching I found this:

And here are some you can buy:
Topshop $78- very similar to mine but a lot more expensive!
 Asos $125

Doesn't matter what you call it- Sleeveless Jacket, Tuxedo Vest, Sleeveless Trench or Vest Dress it's definitely a fun look to give a try!
What do you think? Feeling the urge to cut the arms off all your jackets yet?

  2. Oooh! I need to find one of these. Where did you find the dress form you use in your pictures? I've been tng to score a muslin-like one (at a reasonable price) for ages. Thanks for the Twitter follow... I admire your blog!

  3. I thrifted a wool vest dress but I rarely wear it because I'm not quite sure how to style it. So, thank you so much for the ideas!

  6. Don't you love validation? Especially when you can be proud to have thrifted your version(s)? The second one is amazing with the cute zippers and studs.
