Thrift and Shout on the News

Well I just got home from my 3rd television performance and I'm feeling good! It went really well but I'm just glad it's over! In case you don't know, I have the privileged of being on our local channel Fox 28 every 4th Monday to talk about my thrift store finds! It's a little nerve wracking but a lot of fun!
This month I did Runway looks for less and you will not believe how cheap these outfits are that I put together especially considering that designer clothes cost so much!

The Lace Trend
-seen on the runways of Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Max Azria, and Donna Karan
- keep it neutral and sophisticated
-try mixing 2 different types of lace together

Here is the runway look from Valentino:
Here I am in my version of the look:
Jacket: Goodwill $3.99
Skirt: Volunteers of America $3
Shoes: Colin Stuart via Goodwill $3.99
Total: $11

The Polka Dot Trend
-Polka dots have never really been out but they are especially hot right now thanks to the runways of Moschino, Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Oscar De La Renta.
-Keep the look fun and playful
-black and white are great but also try primary colors- red, blue, and yellow

Here is the runway look from Moschino:
And here is my lovely friend Katie in my version of the look: (I love how much she looks like the model!)
 Dress: Volunteers of America $5.99
Belt: $1.99
Shoes: $3.99
Total: $12

The Neon Trend:
-As seen on the runways of Alice & Olivia, Miu Miu, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler
-This is not your 80's neon look!
-keep the silhouettes ladylike
- try mixing 2 neon colors in a single outfit

Here is the runway look from Alice & Olivia:

And here is my precious friend Victoria in my version of the runway look:
Dress: Volunteers of America $1 (can you believe that!)
Jacket: Goodwill: $3.49
belt: VOA $1.99
Shoes: brand new Mossimo for Target leather pumps $3.99
Total: $10.50

The Floral Trend:
The Spring 2011 runways of Nanette Lepore, D&G, Alberta Ferretti, Derek Lam, and Carolina Herrera were al coming up roses!
-try floral prints in all hem lengths
-think flowy and feminine

Here is the runway look from Nanette Lepore:

And here is the amazingly wonderful Alicia in my version of the look:
Dress: Goodwill $4.99
Earrings: Goodwill $6.99
Shoes: Goodwill $3.99
Total: $16

Aren't these prices just amazing! Complete designer looking outfits for $10 to $16! Sometimes I even amaze myself! Haha
As soon as the Fox 28 website put up the segment on their website I will post it for all of you to see!
