Halloween Costume: Thrifting 9 to 5

Hi Everyone! 

Did you have good weekend? Did you do anything Halloweeny? 

My husband and I attended a Halloween party on Saturday night. I think I did my best ever costume this year!

I went as Dolly Parton!

To be Dolly Parton you must have:

The wig: Party City $19.99 

A blingy dress that defines the waist: Goodwill $2.50

long nails: Walgreens $7

heels: Goodwill $3.99

and of course, the big boobs: 40DD bra from Walmart $9.98 (stuffed with a pair of leggins on each side)

I did my best to recreate her makeup with shades of pink, thick black liner, and fake eyelashes. I couldn't find a sequin dress so I went for the right fit and color then I blinged it up by attaching a fancy earring on the front. I think my boobs could have been bigger but the dress would only allow so much room. Overall, I was really excited how it turned out!

Cute Outfit of the Day: My DSW Deal

 

 Express jacket: Goodwill $3.99

Nine West heels: DSW $14.00 (on clearance)

bow headband: H&M $3.99

Total Cost $28.46

This is an outfit I wore for a date night with my husband a while back. I love the colors in the top and the fact that it is long enough to wear over leggins. I am of the thinking that if you wear leggins you should cover your rear! I know some people don't- it's just my opinion!

These shoes were a total steal! The clearance section at DSW is amazing! Do you ever shop there? Most of the time I completely walk past all of the regularly priced shoes and go straight to the clearance section. I always find the best stuff there especially out of season items. These Nine West heels were originally $70 then they were 80% off! You gotta love that!

Cute Outfit of the Day: Hounds Tooth Fun

 This outfit is my nod to the Ferragamo hounds tooth trend going on right now. My intention was to take the classic hounds tooth print and make it a little more fun!  I love how this skirt looks like the classic print from afar but when you get close you see all the fun neon colors woven into it. I added the aqua pumps to echo the fun colors in the skirt! Such a fun skirt, don't you think?!

Thrift and Shout on the News: Brand New Items from the Thrift Store

This morning I did my monthly thrifty news segment on Columbus, Ohio's Fox 28. I was still a little nervous but I feel like I'm getting better at it every month! This time the segment was about finding clothing at the thrift stores that still have the original tags on them. This is great for those people who feel weird about wearing clothes that other people have already worn. You can actually find brand new items at thrift stores! Some great places to find them are the "better" racks at Volunteers of America and most Goodwill stores get new merchandise from Target.
